October in the Garden
Whilst the majority of the garden produce has been harvested we still have a small bit more before we clean it up for the winter.
Tomatoes are still going strong and are free to take for pupils.
Our pumpkins were slow to grow this year - the weather might’ve played a role in this.
The Brussels Sprouts are growing well in our tunnel and provided we can keep the caterpillars away from them they should be good to pick by November and December.
It’s been a great year of growth - we’ve had potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, lettuce, peas, green beans, chives, turnips and cucumbers.
We’ve also had fantastic sun flowers, wild flowers and plenty of other lovely flowers growing.
